Acute renal failure due to bilateral ureteric necrosis following percutaneous chemical lumbar sympathectomy

We report a case of acute renal failure as a result of obstructive uropathy as a consequence of instillation of phenol used for chemical sympathectomy in Beurger«SQ»s disease of the lower limbs. Extensive bilateral ureteral necrosis occurred as a result of phenol instillation that. Such practices are still common among the general surgeons and such a complication has not been described before.
